El serpentón. – php – Criminal – Car – Arquitectura

Como dije en la anterior entrada del blog, comentaría qué es el serpentón.


Es un instrumento de viento. Está construído con madera recubierta con piel o cuero y tiene forma de serpiente, de ahí su nombre. Se toca con una embocadura similar a las actuales de viento metal, quizá la más parecida sea la del trombón.


Se utilizaba mucho durante finales del XVII y el XVIII para acompañar a agrupaciones vocales en iglesias, muy frecuentemente doblando a alguna de las voces. También se utilizó en bandas militares.


Cayó un poco en desuso durante el siglo XIX, quizá por el desarrollo y evolución de otros instrumentos que sufrieron mejoras técnicas considerables en las familias del viento madera y viento metal.

El Oficleide – Registros – Texas – Lawyers – dinero – Curso

Este instrumento es un tanto peculiar.


El Oficleide era muy usado en la ópera de París durante el siglo XIX para tocar las partes graves de la sección de metales. Hoy podríamos usar la tuba para tocar esas partes de oficleide para tocar partes graves de obras como la Sinfonía Fantástica, de Hector Berlioz.


De hecho, en el último movimiento, en la parte del Dies Irae en la que deben tocar fagotes y oficleides, la parte de oficleide suele ser interpretada por tubas, ya que no debe haber muchos oficleides funcionando por el mundo.


El único oficleide que yo conozco en funcionamiento es el que toca el excelente trompetista francés David Guerrier en uno de sus recitales. Él mismo explica su procedencia y algunas personas cercanas a él explican la dificultad de rescatar un instrumento de estas características.


Este instrumento vino a sustituir al serpentón, del que hablaré proximamente.


A simple vista podría parecer una mezcla entre un fagot, saxofón y boquilla de viento metal...

El quinteto de Cuerda. – Credit – Law Firm – Dominios – php – Shipping

Aprovecho esta entrada de hoy para matar dos pájaros de un tiro.


Por una parte estoy encantado de compartir un vídeo de una compañera cellista, Inés, que forma parte de un grupo llamado Broken String Quintet. Hacen versiones de música moderna en quinteto de cuerda.


Y por otra aprovecho para comentar en qué consiste un quinteto de cuerda. Está formado por el cuarteto de cuerda (dos violines, viola y violoncello) más el contrabajo. En el vídeo de abajo se puede escuchar el perfecto empaste de la sonoridad de los instrumentos de la familia de cuerda frotada más una estupenda versión musical.

El quinteto de Metales. – Lawyers – Texas – Auto – Hosting – Hosting

Dentro de la sección ¿Qué es...? nunca he comentado las distintas agrupaciones existentes en el ámbito de la música de cámara.


Comenzaremos comentando qué es un quinteto de metales. Como su propio nombre indica es una agrupación formada por cinco instrumentos de la familia del viento metal: dos trompetas, una trompa, un trombón y una tuba.


La familia del viento metal tiene muchos más instrumentos, pero estos son los principales y más representativos. Aquí os dejo un vídeo de uno de los quintetos de metales más prestigiosos del mundo, Canadian Brass, aunque en España también tenemos uno de los mejores (Spanish Brass Lurr Metalls).
