Fernando, uno de mis alumnos buscó alguna versión por internet y se encontró con esta. Como se puede apreciar, requiere muchísima concentración y precisión a la hora de tocar.

La pieza consiste en una serie de fórmulas rítmicas sencillas que se van añadiendo y repitiendo formando capas. Además, poco a poco también se van añadiendo intérpretes hasta un total de cinco, que van haciendo cada uno sus propios ritmos...

El resultado es muy interesante. Quizá sea este un buen momento para echar un vistazo a la obra de Steve Reich. Ánimo!

Aprovecho esta entrada de hoy para matar dos pájaros de un tiro.


Por una parte estoy encantado de compartir un vídeo de una compañera cellista, Inés, que forma parte de un grupo llamado Broken String Quintet. Hacen versiones de música moderna en quinteto de cuerda.


Y por otra aprovecho para comentar en qué consiste un quinteto de cuerda. Está formado por el cuarteto de cuerda (dos violines, viola y violoncello) más el contrabajo. En el vídeo de abajo se puede escuchar el perfecto empaste de la sonoridad de los instrumentos de la familia de cuerda frotada más una estupenda versión musical.
